How to Fix Could Not Mount disk2s2

When I try to mount my external hard disk on my Mac but the message below pops out: (com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930868.) I don’t know if it is a problem with my external hard drive or my Mac. Has anybody had this same issue and got it solved?

When you encounter this error message (com.apple.DiskManagement.disenter error -119930868) saying you could not mount disk2s2, you can first utilize the First Aid in Disk Utility to help you check the health of your external and internal hard drive. Follow the detailed steps here:

Step 1. Open "Disk Utility" and choose your external hard drive from the left panel.

Step 2. Click "First Aid" in the top menu and wait for the process to finish.

If your external hard drive is corrupted, you can then use Mac Terminal to repair and repartition your drive like this:

Step 1. Open Terminal and type the following command:

diskutil eraseDisk JHFS+ UntitledUFS disk(Your disk number)

Step 2. Wait for the process to end and check if your hard drive can work properly.

Consider formatting your external hard drive to fix this not mounting error if both ways above fail. Remember to back up all your files Do as follows to format your external hard drive:

Step 1. Choose your external hard drive in Disk Utility and click "Erase" from the top menu.

Step 2. Select format and rename your external hard drive to locate it better.

Step 3. Now, you need to click "Erase" again to confirm your operation.

What if you forget to back up your data and then directly format your external hard drive? Is it possible to get your files back? Sure, you can use EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard for Mac to help you recover data from a formatted external hard drive even when you have erased all important data.
