How Do I Get Rid of Ubuntu and Install Windows Instead?

I want to remove Ubuntu, but every try has failed at some point. I am not very educated about Ubuntu or computers in general. Everything is confusing and too complicated for me. How can I remove Ubuntu and install Windows? Thanks in advance!

To get rid of Ubuntu and install Windows, you need to erase the Linux partitions and do a clean installation of Windows. To this end, you need to make a Windows installation USB, use it to boot your computer, and then fresh install Windows on your PC.

Step 1. Back up your important personal files and data.

Step 2. Create a Windows 10/11 bootable USB using a bootable USB creator, such as EaseUS OS2Go.

Step 3. Connect the bootable USB to your computer and reboot your PC.

Step 4. Enter the BIOS screen to set the bootable USB as the first boot device by pressing F1, F12, or Esc.

Step 5. When the Windows setup wizard launches, select the partition and the Windows OS version you want to install.

Step 6. A message "This partition is not NTFS and has an unknown type" may appear.

Step 7. You will have the choice of "unlocated space."

Step 8. Press new and enter the values for the new partition sizes in MB.

Step 9. Create the partition you want, select one, and continue with the Windows installation.

This will make the Windows installed on your computer. You need to prepare a USB with a capacity of at least 8GB, and then you can utilize Windows Media Creation Tool or EaseUS OS2Go to help create a bootable USB flash drive.

It is worth noting that when creating a bootable USB with Media Creation Tool, you need to download the Windows ISO file from the Microsoft website. Therefore, it is recommend to create a bootable installation USB using EaseUS OS2Go because it can help you create a bootable installer with/without the ISO file.

You will also need a Windows product key for the version you're installing to activate Windows, likely on your PC somewhere if it is shipped out with Windows 10/11 and got changed to Ubuntu.
