How Long Does File History Take?

There are many precious family photos and videos on my computer, and I want to create a backup for them to prevent the computer from crashing. I'm planning to use File History to save them into an external HDD. Do you know how long it will take to back up these files with File History? By the way, these videos and photos are about 500 GB.

There is no definite answer to this question because the time spent largely relies on how much data you have and the backup speed of File History. And many other factors, like the hardware condition, the transferring speed, the types of connecting cables, etc., will also affect the time spent.

File History is a utility with low priority, so the speed is rather low. Suppose that it is the first time you use File History to back up these files, then it will take about a whole day, 24 hours.

If you want to find a quicker way to back up all your data, you can try EaseUS Todo Backup. With this advanced backup utility, you will be able to back up any kind of file, including videos and photos. Besides, it also supports creating a system image, backup disk, partitions, and APP data to ensure a complete backup. What's more, the backing-up speed could be much faster than File History.

File History allows its users to back up files. However, the speed of data backup may need to be faster. It will take about a whole day for 500 GB of data if it is the first time you use File History to back up files. Alternatively, EaseUS Todo Backup is an advanced backup utility that could provide faster and more reliable backup service.

Creating regular backups for your precious family videos and photos is always a good idea. With EaseUS Todo Backup, you can back up your data with easy steps. Try it now and see how long it will take for you!
