I have a 2013 Macbook Pro with a 500 GB SSD. The system says the drive has failed and suggests I use Disk Utility to check for errors. I ran the first aid program, but it never stopped. Who knows how long it will take?

How long does it take to run Disk Utility First Aid, and Can it be hard stopped? Mac First Aid in Disk Utility is a built-in program on macOS that can repair numerous disk errors and file system glitches.
And usually, running Mac First Aid will require at most five minutes. If no errors are found on the target disk or volume, less time will be used. If First Aid finds any errors on the disk or volume, it will take extra time to repair them. You can hard stop the First Aid process by pressing 'Control + Alt + Delete' on the Mac keyboard.
