To upgrade/replace an SSD without reinstalling Windows, you must use disk cloning software, like EaseUS Disk Copy, to clone the entire OS or migrate Windows to the new SSD. After this, you need to replace the old SSD with the new one and set the new SSD as your boot drive in BOIS.

If you want to use the new SSD in place of the old one, then you need to install Windows on it. You can do this by cloning the 2 SSDs or do a clean installation instead.

However, as you mentioned above, you do not want to reinstall Windows, so there is only one way out. It is cloning, which can help you transfer data from one SSD to another without data loss or Windows reinstallation. Since Windows does not come with cloning features, you must turn to third-party cloning software for help. EaseUS Disk Copy will be the one that can meet your needs.

If your motherboard has a second slot, install the new SSD, then use EaseUS cloning software to clone the old SSD to the new one. After the cloning, you may need to set the new SSD as your first boot drive in the BIOS settings. In addition, if you are sure everything is transferred to your new drive, you can format the old SSD and use it as your storage device.

If your motherboard has only one slot, you need to connect the new SSD to your computer via a USB-to-SATA cable, transfer data using EaseUS disk clone software, and replace the old SSD with the new SSD.

To upgrade SSD without reinstalling Windows OS, you need to perform disk cloning with the help of professional cloning software like EaseUS Disk Copy. After that, you need to replace the old drive with the new one and set it as your first boot choice in the BIOS settings.
