Norton Ghost How to Clone Hard Drive?

Hello, I need help with cloning a Windows 7 hard drive using Norton Ghost. I bought Symantec Ghost 15 last week, and my drive is showing signs it is dying. I need to get this done ASAP. Does anyone have some advice on how to use Norton Ghost to clone a hard drive? I'm not sure I'll get many chances before the old drive quits working completely.

Follow the steps below to clone a hard drive with Norton Ghost:

  • Install Norton Ghost and launch it.
  • Click the "Tools" tab on the home interface.
  •  Select "Copy My Hard Drive," then click "Next."
  • Select the source drive as the hard drive you want to clone.
  • Then select the destination drive, which is an external hard drive or a USB flash drive.
  • Choose the cloning method you prefer - "Sector by Sector" for a byte-to-byte copy of hard drives and partitions, "All Data" for cloning data, system, and applications, including the operating system, and "Free Space" for cloning only sectors occupied by existing files.
  • Click "yes" to accept the warning message about overwriting the existing data on the destination drive.
  • Check "Optimize for performance" to speed up the cloning process if you have a large amount of data on the hard drive.
  • Click "Next" to begin cloning your hard drive. Wait for it to finish and click the "Finish" button.

By following these steps, you should be able to clone your hard drive with Norton Ghost successfully. But unfortunately, Norton Ghost was discontinued since 2013, and it couldn't work with the latest OS. So, the hard drive cloning may fail due to an incompatible issue.
