I have an SD Card that slider in turned okay, but the properties of it keep saying "read-only" permission. And in the Disk Utility, the options to erase the SD card are all disabled! The only option I can run there is "verify disk". What should I do to get the SD card functional read-and-write on Mac?

Suppose your SD card can not be erased or formatted on your Mac, don't panic! It's possible to erase the problematic SD card on your Mac.
In case of losing essential data in the process, it's suggested that you back up your SD card first. EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard for Mac Pro is an all-in-one backup and recovery software that can back up your data in only three steps. And it can quickly perform SD card recovery on Mac.
Check out the following steps to back up your SD card first:
Step 1. Open the EaseUS Software on your Mac and click 'Disk Backup > Create Backup > Next' in the main interface.
Step 2. Select the SD card to back up, and click 'Create Backup'. Note that if you want to create backups and recover data from a RAW SD card, remember to connect it to your Mac in advance.
Step 3. Choose a place to save your backup files, change the name of your backup file, and then click 'Save'.
After backing up the SD card and saving the backup files on your Mac, you can format the SD card to make it functional.
Your SD card may sometimes be encrypted by malware or viruses that increase write protection and prevent you from accessing recorded data. Running anti-virus software and removing write-protected viruses from your memory SD card is the most effective fix.
Check out:
Step 1. Open 'Disk Utility' on your Mac via the 'Application > Utilities' folder.
Step 2. Select the SD card in Disk Utility, and click 'Erase' in the top menu.
Step 3. Choose the new format (APFS or Mac OS Extended) and the name of the formatted SD card.
Step 4. Click 'Erase' again to confirm, and wait for the process to finish.
Use EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard to recover deleted or lost files easily and quickly.
